Managing Publish Permissions for Students
As a teacher, you control whether students in your classes can publish sites to the web.
- When creating a new class, choose whether students can publish.
- Change this permission in every class's settings view.
Set Permissions On New Class Creation
When creating a new class, use the publish permission toggle to decide if your students can publish their sites. By default, students can publish, but turning off the toggle will prevent that.
Change Permissions in an Existing Class
1. Go to your class page, and click Settings
2. Change the toggle state - turn on to allow students to publish, and turn off to prevent that.
3. Click Save Settings to apply this to all the students in this class.
What Can Students do if They Can't Publish?
Students that are not allowed to publish their sites can work within the Wix Tomorrow Classroom editor, create any number of sites, and save their work. In the Editor, students will see the Publish button as disabled.
Students will also be able to unpublish sites they created that have been published in the past.
The teacher will be able to see, moderate and provide feedback on any site created by the students. If the teacher chooses to, they can publish the site for the students by clicking Edit Site and choosing Publish in the top right.
Note
Students that are moved into a class immediately get the same permissions as other students in their new class.
Important
Sites that have been published by a student (before their publish permission has been taken away) will not be unpublished automatically. Students or teachers will have to manually unpublish any site that they would not like to be public.
